Text Tweak 1.0 is a very complete office tool for working on files, which lets you make comparisons between two files to see if there are any differences. If there are, the program will show you. There are other tools available, like: you can convert the whole file to lower case, upper case, delete blank spaces from every line in the file, add characters to the start and end of every line, add special locating characters to a specific place in a file, extract specific segments of a file, delete duplicate lines that could exist, generate statistics (total lines, words, characters, etc).
